The accommodation is so close to the Pennine Way that you’ll find yourself perfectly placed to explore one of England’s most famous national trails. You can take a circular walk right from the door of the Barn (if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimse of one of our resident red squirrels!).
You won’t be short of things to see. Discover the history of Hadrian’s Wall, hike through the Lake District National Park or travel by steam engine from Slaggyford through the beautiful South Tyne Valley to the charming market town of Alston.
Both the Scottish borders and Newcastle Upon Tyne (with its vibrant Quayside and Metrocentre) are easily accessible by car.
Broadmea Barn and Stable each have their own private hot tub so after a full day exploring, you'll be able to relax and unwind whilst counting stars in Northumberland’s dark skies.
Private trout and salmon fishing is just an amble through the hay meadows to where Broadmea Farm borders the South Tyne River.
And, for a taste of local cuisine, visit our local award winning gastro pub, The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman’s Rest.
Situated in the North Pennines, an area of outstanding natural beauty, our cottages are the perfect location for your country retreat.
The pretty town of Alston is a five-mile drive away and has independent shops, pubs and local amenities.
Look at Visit North East to find attractions in the local area and activities taking place during your stay.
