We are delighted to welcome you to Broadmea.

We comply with current Covid-19 regulations, the Government 'Rule of 6' (in England, children are included in this number) and local restrictions in Northumberland.  This means that groups staying at Broadmea must now be from one household and all living together. We can no longer accept groups from multi households - doing so would be against the law. Your group may include a 'support bubble' (a support bubble consists of one single adult). We ask that all guests maintain social distancing with those outside their household during their stay.

We have put the necessary processes in place to provide our guests with confidence that Broadmea adheres to Government and public health guidance.  We hold the ‘We’re Good to Go” UK COVID-19 industry standard and consumer mark which confirms our cleaning and safety measures are carried out. These are to ensure your safety and that of our staff and will mean that we will ask for your cooperation with the following things.

1. Cleaning will take extra time

We now need to double clean. First our usual high level cleaning and then going over everything again with virucidal sanitiser. We use Virocid (UK) (safety data available) paying particular attention to handles, knobs, switches, keys etc.

and means we will need extra time for each changeover. Therefore, Arrival time is now 4pm. Departure is 9:30 am. We understand it is inconvenient but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety.

2. On your day of departure

The day before you leave, you will be provided with a box of laundry bags for your use the morning of your departure. You are asked to remove all pillow cases, duvet covers and flat sheets and place in bags provided along with all towels whether used or not and remove the bags from the property on your departure. All our laundry, towels and bags are supplied by Shortridge Laundry Company and they ensure hygienically clean linen and towels in line with NHS infection control measures.

You will also be asked to:

3. Empty all kitchen, bathroom and bedroom waste bins into labelled council bins outside.

4. Fill the dishwasher with a full load of crockery and cutlery and set it running before leaving. We are now required to re-wash everything between guests, so it would help hugely if you could do a full load before leaving.

5. Open windows and leave the property by 9:30 am putting both keys back in the key boxes outside.

6. Some things may be missing

To reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have been advised to remove as much as possible from the cottages. This means that decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets, games, etc have been kept to a minimum. We have also reduced the quantity of some kitchen equipment, as the requirement to rewash every item between guests would not be possible. Do let us know if there is something you require that is not there.

7. If you develop symptoms

We sincerely hope that you will have a happy and healthy holiday. However, should a member of your party develop symptoms, the Government advice is to return to your primary residence, get a test, follow the guidelines and self-isolate there for a period of 7 days (14 days for the other group members). Please do contact us immediately if you develop symptoms.

The new normal may be slightly different than what we are all used to, but it is great to be able to get away again, and if we all take responsibility for minimising risk, then hopefully we will continue to get away and all stay well.
